A musical artist, at their best, connects with each listener in a profound
and personal way. So it is with Kathleen Tracy, a Seattle based singer /
songwriter who crafts soulful compositions filled with heart that are at
once lush, inventive and emotionally affecting. Her songs weave
together layers of emotions with lyrics that touch the soul. Her moving
style and rich musical flavor bring to mind the sensibility of Joni Mitchell,
lyrical depth of Leonard Cohen, the sometimes spare and atmospheric
sounds of Brian Eno and the lush harmonies of the Roches.

Tracy’s interest in music began with a Christmas gift – a zither – when
she was six years old. Her musical tastes and talents blossomed over
the years blending folk, pop and snippets of ‘world music’ flavors. She
has toured both coasts and has opened for many notable artists
including Ferron, the Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet, Venus
Envy, Del Ray and the Blues Gators and Tammy Wynette.

Tracy has released three independently produced recording, Speaking
Stones, So Bodaciously and Calling the Dragons Home. Each of these
recordings is an evocative journey of the spirit, guided by this insightful
artist, whose compositions engage the listener on many levels; with a
lush blend of rich harmonies, thought provoking lyrics, melodic and
distinctive vocals and inventive instrumentation that draws on ancient
cultures and modern rhythms. Victory Music reviewed So Bodaciously
saying, “…rich, multi-layered and inventive arrangements that cross
stylistic boundaries with ease and grace…unexpectedly moving.”
